Of the thousands of patients in my 16 year career, I still clearly remember one patient, Cindy, who came to me with shoulder pain that was keeping her up all night. She was exhausted, in pain and frustrated. I know what that feels like. Sleep deprivation will wear you down like nothing else. When you can’t sleep, you are unable to heal. I still remember the look on her face. She was at her whits end. She was suffering from shoulder pain for over a year at that point and the reason that she finally sought treatment was because of the disappointment she saw in her son’s face every time he asked to be picked up or carried. She hadn’t been able to lift him for almost a year! The last time she had tried flared up her shoulder so much that she couldn’t use it for days and she suffered from sharp and stabbing pain.
“Why can’t you pick me up, Mommy?” Her son had asked her. Cindy was in tears as she told me her story. Her shoulder pain was so bad that she could not comfort her son in his time of need. She was tired all the time, in pain, frustrated, and fearful from being able to do the simple and necessary things in life that brought her joy. Having two kids of my own, I can relate to Cindy. It broke my heart to think of not being able to pick up either of my kids when they needed me the most. I wanted desperately to help her.
I showed Cindy the fast acting Shoulder Stretch. This stretch forever changed her life. After working on these stretches and attending physical therapy for 6 sessions, Cindy was able to pick up her son. Her world had opened back up and she was now able to enjoy taking care of her family without the shoulder pain she had been experiencing.
What I have found is this problem requires hands on treatment such as soft tissue or joint mobilization, revolutionary modalities such as the 830Laser or BioQPulse. Massage, postural correction and proper strengthening of the weakened tissue at the appropriate time are also indicated. This is important to get your shoulder to heal.
I want to share this with you because I want to help as many people as I can. I want you to know that there is hope and a way to get back to living life the way you want. It is too easy to put off seeking help when you have pain because we all think "It will go away soon." Let me tell you from personal experience, it doesn't always go away. I have found if you have been suffering for 3 weeks and it hasn't resolved, you should seek treatment now! Putting it off can make it worse which means it is harder to fix and will take longer to resolve. If this sounds like you, check out our 3 part video class below to start healing!
“I can’t tell you how amazing it is that I can sleep through the night again. In less than a month, I’m feeling better than I have in years, plus I am able to pick my son up without pain!” – Cindy S.
