Ed Cardinal, Physical Therapist

My wife Jude and I recently traded the ocean of Rhode Island for the mountains of Western North Carolina. I’ve been a Physical Therapist for 23 years graduating from the University of Rhode Island, as well as a Personal Trainer, Thai Therapeutic Stretching Practitioner and Yoga Instructor for 20 years. Before that I spent 12 years as a Mental Health Counselor.

My over two decades of Physical Therapy experience has been working with orthopedic disorders focusing on attentive, one-on-one, manual therapy to maximize recovery. I harmoniously blend osteopathic techniques, Trigger Point Therapy, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, Thai Therapeutic Stretches, and Yoga Therapeutics, in addition to incorporating individualized therapeutic exercise. I especially enjoy treating the shoulder complex and working with runners.

“If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. Wherever you are—if you are following your bliss, you are enjoying that refreshment, that life within you, all the time.” — Joseph Campbell

Working at Physio enables me to work one-on-one with my patients, thereby facilitating the delivery of high-quality care.

I love spending time with my wife Jude and our dog Angel exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains, enjoying good food, and listening to live music. I am an avid trail runner and downhill skier.
