Virtual Physical Therapy

While we provide a clean and safe in-person experience, we also know that this may not be the best fit for everyone right now. We offer one-on-one virtual physical therapy, so you can get the care and direction you need from the comfort and safety of your own home.

Why our process can work for you

  • question

    How does it work?

Virtual physical therapy is very similar to in person therapy. Physical therapists are very creative and have come up with ways to help you from the comfort of your own home. Without coming into the office, you can solve your ailments, reduce your pain, increase your range of motion, and get well.

    What to expect?

A therapist is unable to physically touch you during a virtual physical therapy appointment. This means they won't be able to use hands-on manual therapy techniques during these sessions. However, they can guide you through therapeutic exercises and stretches that are an important part of many physical therapy treatments in addition to instruction on how you can use household items to accomplish similar results.

    Is it secure?

Absolutely. We use HIPAA secure technology to secure the virtual appointment from end to end.

To make the most of your appointment

  1. Ensure that your camera is on and that you are allowing video.

  2. Ensure your device is connected to a strong/stable internet connection. If using a cell phone, being connected to an internet source may provide a better connection.

  3. Look to connect about 5 min prior to the start of your appointment. You may see a screen that says your appointment will begin once approved by your meeting host. We ask for your patience as our clinical team will begin the appointment at the scheduled time.

  4. Ensure you have ample space needed to complete your session and make yourself comfortable. Choose a location in which you can be most comfortable both physically and emotionally. You will be asked by your therapist to move during your visit so make sure you have room to move. You want to be able to share information freely with your therapist so chose a location that is private and without distractions. The more comfortable you are in your surroundings the better the outcome of the visit will be.

  5. Choose a consistent location. Using the same space for every visit allows for your provider to know what equipment and furniture is available for treatment.

  6. Be prepared that you may potentially need to move your device into a position in which full visionary field can be achieved throughout the video call.

  7. Wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement that can be seen over video. Having snug fitting clothes allows for your provider to assess how parts of your body move to determine the best intervention.

  8. Learn more about which household items you can use to assist in your physical therapy session by asking your therapist.
