Lindsay Goodman

I lived in NYC for my entire life, and recently decided it was time to leave the hustle and bustle behind and enjoy the mountains and greenery that Asheville has to offer! I am so far loving everything about Asheville and enjoying a little bit of a slower pace of life! I received my undergraduate degree from Columbia University and my graduate degree at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University.

During and following PT school, I worked at ADPT by Cynergy, a fantastic orthopedic PT clinic in NYC which specialized in sports and performance physical therapy. I gained immense training and knowledge working with all kinds of populations including professional athletes of various sports (including basketball, soccer, boxing, baseball, track/cross country and more), youth athletes, and general population. I learned how to bridge the gap between rehab and performance, allowing patients to recover from injury and get back to high level activity and things they love to do. Prior to PT school, I became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) which has helped guide my work with athletes. In addition to working with athletes, I love to work with all populations and believe everyone can benefit from some form of physical therapy at any time!

I was drawn to Physical Therapy because I believe and practice all of the values that we teach our patients. I believe in investing in your body now by treating it right and maintaining healthy habits so that you can have a longer, more fulfilling, and more active life now and later. I am passionate about healthy eating, exercise and optimizing function. I believe that these physical habits can have dramatic positive mental effects as well, leading us to be happier in life.

“Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become. No single instance will transform your beliefs, but as the votes build up, so does the evidence of your new identity.”- James Clear "Atomic Habits"

In our society, people are increasingly spending more time sitting for work and leisure, and maintaining postures that our bodies weren't meant to maintain for such amounts of time. A lot of this causes aches and pains which can get worse over time which can be extremely frustrating...pain often makes us want to rest more but that's often not the best approach! I want to teach people to reclaim their bodies, learn how to become stronger in the areas that have become ignored and are causing pain, and improve mobility and function. I want to help people become even stronger and more resilient than they were before they began having pain so that they can life a more active lifestyle!

I am a PT for physio and love working with all ages and populations! With my training as a CSCS and past experience working as a performance physical therapist for high-level athletes, I am especially passionate about working with any kind of athlete or anyone who leads an active lifestyle/wants to become more active!

There are so many things I love about working at Physio! First, it's rare to find PT offices that offer one-on-one appointments with the physical therapist. This allows us to provide quality, individual care to each patient. I also enjoy the calm, positive and friendly environment that Physio has to offer. Patients don't feel rushed, stressed or ignored when they are here.
